VAS Schools in Hanoi
St. Patrick’s Day came to VAS Hanoi on Saturday with the first ever St. Patrick’s game of Gaelic Football. The match between two year 8 teams was the culmination of a lot hard work by staff and students to stage this unique event.
Held at UNIS, the two VAS Hanoi teams competed in a thrilling contest to see who could claim to be the dominant force in Gaelic Football at VAS Hanoi. Ultimately the winner was VAS Reds by a margin of just one point. Duy Hung of Year 8 was judged man of the match with a scintillating performance. Duy Hung impressed observers with his natural skills and ability.
The Irish Ambassador to Vietnam, Maeve Collins attended the match and was impressed by the boys ability. Ms Collins later presented medals to both teams and the trophy to Phong, the captain of Red team.
This event would not have been possible without the dedication of Mr James Kiernan who has helped make Gaelic Football an integral part of the co-curricular life of the school. Thank you, Mr Jim.
